The Technology of Tommy
Through the generosity of several companies, this show features quite a bit of advanced theatrical technology. In addition to moving lights, we are utilizing several different types of LED fixtures. All of these fixtures consume less electricity than their conventional counterparts, allowing the theater to save money and benefit the environment. These fixtures also provide a wider array of creative opportunities to tell our story, using a broader spectrum of color in addition to movement and texture.
The Chance is no stranger to utilizing video projection, but this show features a leap forward, using full-motion video under the control of the lighting console, with a significant amount of content that was created and edited especially for the show.
We thank Disneyland Technical Services and Elation (a global supplier of entertainment and theatrical lighting technology) for loaning this equipment to the theater and for their passionate commitment to the arts in our community.
