Kelly Todd (Director/Choreographer)
Kelly Todd, a long-time performer, graduated from UCLA’s school of Theatre, Film, and Television and went on to complete her Master’s of Education in Teaching at UCLA. She was the resident choreographer for the Children’s Civic Light Opera for 14 years, and choreographed over 20 productions including Crazy For You, Damn Yankees, Grease, and 42nd Street. She taught dance, and drama at Washington Preparatory High School in South Central Los Angeles for three years where she choreographed nearly 200 pieces including Guys and Dolls, and Dreamgirls and was the technical director of numerous productions. She has also been teaching dance privately throughout Los Angeles studios since 1994. Kelly was the lighting designer for A Shrine to Junior at the Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood for which she received a 2002 NAACP theatre award nomination. She co-founded the Young Adult Civic Light Opera and directed/choreographed Chicago and A Chorus Line. In New York City, she has performed in and choreographed Off-Broadway productions and had the opportunity to train at the Broadway Dance Center for two years. [top]

Dean Anderson (Musical Director)
Dean began his musical studies at the age of six studying piano and violin. He completed his Bachelors and Masters of Music degrees at the University of Missouri – Columbia, where he studied Violin Performance and Orchestral Conducting. He was the founding member and conductor of the University of Missouri Chamber Soloists and the Missouri Symphony Youth Orchestra from 1997 – 2001. In the fall of 2001, he was appointed the Music Director of the Columbia Civic Orchestra, a post he held until 2003. During that time, he was also the Music Director at Stephen’s College, where he conducted live performances of Fiddler on the Roof, Into The Woods, Anything Goes, and other musicals. He was the Resident Music Director at The Chance Theater until 2005, the same year he was appointed the Music Director of the Orange County Symphony. He has both music directed and acted in several productions at The Chance Theater including Cabaret, Company, and the last production of A Grand Night for Singing in 2004. He is excited to be a part of this production in wonderful collaboration between his two most loved artistic establishments, The Chance Theater and the Orange County Symphony. [top]

John Robinson (Set Designer)
This is John's seventh collaboration with The Chance. He is an architect who has done set design in LA and New York. He most recently designed the sets for Cabaret, Big Love, The World Goes ‘Round, and The Laramie Project at The Chance. His work can also be currently seen at The Chance in their productions of The Last 5 Years and Hot ‘N’ Throbbing. He would like to thank Kelly for her support and inspiration. [top] |

Jon Langrell (Lighting Designer)
Jon has a B.F.A. in lighting design from Boston University and began his career as the house sound and lighting designer at the well known “Ballroom” cabaret in New York in the late 80's. There he designed for Peggy Lee, Jack Jones, Eartha Kitt, Helen Schneider, Patti Page, Jimmy Webb, Little Anthony, Yma Sumac, Barbra Cook and many more. Jon then landed in Seattle in 1991 and designed productions for Microsoft, Boeing, Major League Baseball, Billionaires and also served as a theater and technical manager of a theater & convention center. In 1997 Jon joined ITEC entertainment in Orlando Florida to serve as the LD for the private imagineering firm. At ITEC Jon worked on ten attractions at Universal’s Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios, 5 attractions at Disney’s Epcot, designed lighting for “The Holy Land Experience” theme park and several major retail installations. Jon returned back to Seattle to serve as production manager of the largest arts festival in the country, “Bumbershoot”, for two years. Alisa Haase (Costume Designer/Stage Manager)
Alisa is thrilled to be working at the Curtis Theater in a Chance Theater production. As a company member, Alisa has Stage Managed numerous productions including the recent production of The Laramie Project, The Diary of Anne Frank, Tape and The Cherry Orchard. She received her B.A. in Theater from Concordia University, Irvine. She would like to thank Kelly for the opportunity to work on a “happy show,” Jason for his love and support, and her parents and Nana & Bopop for their instilling a love for the works of Rodgers & Hammerstein at an early age. Casey Long (Prop Master)
Casey is excited to be working on this special engagement at The Curtis Theatre. Casey is the Production Manager at The Chance and has worked as the prop master on several productions in the past, including their recent productions of A Christmas Story and The Eight: Reindeer Monologues. Darren C. Buckels (Soloist)
It’s a Grand Night once again!! Darren is reprising his role and is glad to be back. As a Company Member of The Chance Theater Repertory Company he is looking forward to another wonderful year. Darren does aspire to become a musical theater actor and is currently employed at Ashland Chemical Company. Some of the shows you might have seen Darren recently in included, Closer then Ever and A Grand Night for Singing at The Chance Theater Repertory Company. Some of his favorite roles include “John Wilkes Booth” in Assassins, “Sid Sorokin” in Pajama Game, “Anthony” in Sweeney Todd, “Guido Contini” in Nine and “El Gallo” in The Fantasticks. Kristin Meerdink (Soloist)
This is Krisin’s first show with The Chance Theater, and she is excited to be working with such a talented cast! A recent graduate of Concordia University with her B.A. in Theater and Communication, Kristin has been in over 25 theatrical productions in her lifetime. Some of her favorites include: Cabaret (Sally Bowles), Seussical (Gertrude McFuzz), Ruthless, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, and The Woman in Black. Erika C. Miller (Soloist)
A founding member of The Chance Theater, she was most recently seen in The Chance’s critically acclaimed production of Cabaret as Sally Bowles and Closer than Ever earlier this year. Previous Chance favorites: Goodnight Children Everywhere, Lee Miller the Angel and the Fiend, The Fantasticks and Steel Magnolias. Erika can also be seen singing Ragtime occasionally around town. She is thrilled to be reprising her role at the lovely Curtis Theatre and would like to thank her fellow cast and crew members for being awesome, her husband for his support and her family for their love. Jonathan Talmadge (Soloist)
Jonathan has a BA in Theatre, Acting Emphasis from CSU Fullerton and studied voice with Eric Futterer. He’s done a lot of Shakespeare & musicals. Favorite roles include Marvin - Falsettos; Max Mencken – It’s A Bird, It’s A Plane, It’s Superman!; Bobby – Company; Nanki Poo – The Mikado. In June, he and his nice wife Angela are expecting their first child. Love and gratitude to younger, braver brother David, soon to be serving in Iraq. [top] |
